Update Raven (Bog oak handle)

Wednesday 22 August, 2018

I have finally got a week away camping to put it through its paces. I don’t think I have ever owned a better knife. The looks are amazing, it’s also a solidly built heavy knife, which I found comfortable to wear even after long periods. The bog oak handle was very comfy and further seemed to grip just as well if not better when wet.
The scandi grind made wood carving easy, managing to carve forks, spatulas and even a crude spoon with it, all carved of seasoned ash and with little resulting bluntness. In fact I only ever needed a few passes on a stop the entire trip to keep it razor sharp.
The high carbon steel and sharp spine make for easy fire steel striking. The only slight downside I have is that the sharp spine can make it a little uncomfortable to choke up on the spine for long periods of use but it wasn’t a big issue. I can also say it was a beast when it came to batoning. I would defiantly consider getting another GM knife in the future.
